THIS Year's SSP Project in Miami is focused on creating an integrated master plan for the Highland Park community, adjacent to the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital campus. Our goal is to create a cohesive vision for future growth opportunities by bringing together the many stakeholders in the project area. EDAW's final master plan will need to identify corridors of reuse and development sites around and within the project area providing a creative, viable plan for housing, office, retail, and medical uses. We will also create links between the medical campus, neighboring communities and destinations such as downtown and the Performing Arts Center while maintaining the community scale and retaining the historical significance of Highland Park. In addition, we will identify transportation links to natural amenities such as the Miami River and Wagner Creek and enhance waterside ambiance throughout the area.
